A HISTORY WITH A FOUNDATION IN INNOVATION.
In October 2013, an announcement was made that would forever change the landscape of the building industry in Asia, Australia and the Middle East. Two major companies—USG Corporation and Boral Limited—would embark on an exciting joint venture.
The name of this joint venture: USG Boral Building Products. This was the perfect marriage of a leading manufacturing and distribution network across Asia Pacific and a technology leader with world-class innovation capacity.
For more than 110 years, the USG Corporation has been a leader in producing innovative products and systems that build the environments in which we live, work and play. From USG Sheetrock® Brand Gypsum Panels in the early 1900s, Fire Resistant (Type X) Gypsum Panels in the 1940s, Lightweight Metal Framing and Shaft Wall Systems in the 1960s, and USG Durock® and Fiberock® Brand Panels in the 1980s and 1990s to the USG Sheetrock® Brand UltraLight Gypsum Panels of today, these USG products have shown themselves to be leaders in moving the residential and commercial construction industry forward.
Headquartered in Sydney, Australia, Boral has been a leader in global building products and construction materials since 2000. With leading positions in Cement & Construction Materials in Australia, Plasterboard in Australia and Asia, and Cladding and Roof Tiles in the USA, Boral produces and distributes a broad range of materials and products including quarry products, cement, fly ash, premix concrete, asphalt, clay bricks, clay and concrete roof tiles, concrete masonry products, plasterboard and timber.

USG BORAL
In early 2014, Boral Limited and USG Corporation formed a 50/50 joint venture known as USG Boral. With approximately 3,500 employees, USG Boral is a leading manufacturer and supplier of gypsum-based wall and ceiling lining systems, mineral fibre acoustical ceiling systems, metal framing, joint compounds, high-performance panels and accessories throughout Asia, Australia and the Middle East.
In Australia, USG Boral Building Products has plasterboard manufacturing plants in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria; a specialty plasters and jointing compounds plant in Victoria; cornice plants in New South Wales and Victoria; an integrated national network of more than 50 specialist trade centres; and Australia's largest residential wall and ceiling installation service – USG Boral Linings (UBL).
USG Boral in Asia is a leading multi-country plasterboard producer in the region. USG Boral in Asia has 21 manufacturing sites across China, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, Vietnam, India, Malaysia and the Philippines producing plasterboard ceiling tiles and suspension systems, metal framing, jointing compounds and industrial plasters throughout the region.
From our production facility in Saudi Arabia to our plaster plant and gypsum mine in Oman, at USG Boral, we’re proud to be a part of the Middle East’s growing infrastructure and look forward to expanding on our presence for years to come.
