USG BORAL CONTINUES TO SUPPORT THE ROYAL CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL GOOD FRIDAY APPEAL

MEDIA RELEASE

April 2019

With a strong commitment to philanthropic projects locally and globally, USG Boral has supported the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal (GFA) Charity House project for the 26th consecutive year.

This year, USG Boral supplied and installed approximately 1000m2 of 10mm Sheetrock Plasterboard and 250 lineal metres of cornice, taking the donation of product and services to more than $350,000 since the initiative was launched in 1993.

Located at 16 Domingo Avenue, Clyde North, which is part of Villawood’s boutique Delaray community, the 38 square, four-bedroom charity home will go to auction on Friday 19 April.

The 2019 Henley and Villawood Properties’ charity home is a grand family home. Featuring a large alfresco area, four spacious bedrooms, five living spaces, and shower to ground floor powder room, the home will be appointed with luxury fittings and fixtures, and finished with professional landscaping, decking, ducted heating and air-conditioning and window coverings. Everything within the home has been donated and will be sold as part of the overall auction price.

According to Bryan Kennedy, Contracting Manager VIC/TAS, USG Boral, it’s a privilege to be able to support the initiative. “Many USG Boral employees and their families have a personal connection to the Royal Children’s Hospital. Through children who have had to attend the hospital for medical reasons, or family and friends who work in children’s wards and specialist pediatric units.

“Being involved with the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal charity auction provides USG Boral with an opportunity to give something real back to our community of customers and consumers who support us through the inclusion of USG Boral products in their building projects.

“USG Boral undertakes a number of philanthropic projects each year to help improve the lives of people locally, and the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal is one of the key initiatives.

“Henley has built a fantastic home. The design and the finished product is outstanding and we are confident this year’s auction will achieve another record result for the Royal Children’s Hospital.”

“USG Boral continues to be a valued supplier with the Good Friday Appeal Charity Home.  We are proud and humbled that year after year, USG Boral enthusiastically contributes to the project, knowing that every dollar from the auction will go to the Royal Children’s Hospital,” Tony Blackshaw, CEO, Henley Properties.

Note: The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal Charity Home Auction on Friday 19th April 2019 raised $761,000.
